Skin Rejuvenation illumiFacial® 'Photofacial' Treatment

Our skin encounters numerous challenges over time, whether it has become tired and dull, uneven in tone or blemished by different types of pigmentation.

The good news is that Lynton’s patented ‘illumiFacial®’ skin treatment is well placed to tackle all of these issues! The Lynton laser uses an ‘Intense Pulsed Light’ (IPL) laser to heat targeted areas of the skin and promote increased rates of collagen and elastic production.

This naturally aids skin rejuvenation and strengthening, while helping to tackle serious skin complaints like acne, pigmentation and vascular breakouts. But what are the characteristics of illumiFacial® treatment, and how do we use this technology here at K Govind, Medicial Aesthetics?

illumiFacial® at a Glance – The Key Treatment Features

When our IPL Laster heats your skin, it effectively causes minor and reversable damage to the dermis. It’s at this stage that collagen and elastin (and similar proteins) and produced at an increased rate, unlocking a number of natural skincare benefits and treatment options.

Before we delve into some of the treatments that we’re able to deliver using illumiFacial®, let’s look at some of the technology’s key features:

  • See Positive Results in as little as 3 Treatments
  • Receive Treatment Within 15 to 60 Minutes
  • An Average Recovery Time of Between 24 and 72 Hours Depending on Treatment
  • No Anaesthetic Required and Minimal Complications

What Can illumiFacial® be Used to Treat?

illumiFacial® and IPL can be used as part of treatment plans for multiple issues, but there are some applications that remain more ideal than others.

These include:

  • Skin Rejuvenation: Even if you don’t have a specific or noticeable skin condition, IPL and illumiFacial® may be used to promote overall skin rejuvenation and restoration. It achieves this by triggering minimal thermal damage and promoting the growth of collagen (which is anti-inflammatory by nature).
  • Pigmentation Issues: IPL can also be used to reduce the appearance of freckles and age spots, or patches of dark, sun damaged skin (known as ‘Melasma’). Such blemishes contain increased levels of melanin, which naturally absorbs the light from our IPL Laser while the underlying, melanin-rich cells are gradually destroyed.
  • Vascular Treatments and Redness: You can also benefit from illumiFacial® treatment if you experience facial flushing (redness) or spider veins that appear near the surface of the skin. Such issues are caused by damaged blood vessels, which absorb the heat from our IPL Laser when it’s applied to affected areas. Ultimately, the vessels are destroyed and the skin left more even in tone.
  • Acne Treatment: illumiFacial® treatments can also be used to directly target the overactive sebaceous glands that cause acne breakouts. With regular treatment sessions, our IPL Laser will reduce both the frequency and severity of your active lesions, leaving your skin appearing much softer and smoother over time.
  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles: By stimulating heightened production of collagen and elastin in the dermis, IPL can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your face. This creates a much smoother and more even skin tone, while establishing a more youthful aesthetic overall.

Cost and treatment times will vary from one application to another, while a consultation and patch test will be required at least 48 hours before your first sitting.
